Ovary and Immune Function Study

We are studying the effects of ovarian function on the human immune system. We are recruiting women who are healthy and women who are diagnosed with infertility or Primary Ovarian Insufficiency. Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) causes premature menopause and infertility. By studying the Immune profile and genomes of women with and without POI/Infertility. Drs. Marcelle Cedars and Aleks Rajkovic hope to compare these groups to gain insights into these conditions and offer better diagnostics and therapies to women with ovarian insufficiency and infertility. Participants can expect

One half-hour visit to UCSF Parnassus or the Center for Reproductive Health at Mission Bay, where you will:

Sign a consent
Answer a few brief questions
Have blood drawn

Participants may be compensated with a $25 gift card!

We are recruiting 3 groups of participants:

Control Group

25-40 years old
Regular menstrual cycle
Normal ovarian reserve (if known)

POI Group

Cessation of menstruation prior to age 40
Diagnosis of Premature Ovarian insufficiency

Infertility group

Women diagnosed with Infertility of unknown cause
