Beatriz Rodriguez Alonso, PhD
As a postdoctoral researcher within Rajkovic’s lab, Beatriz participates in different projects which approach the study of reproduction from the genomics perspective. Her current position in basic research along with her experience as a clinical embryologist in the field of human reproduction gives her a unique perspective to understand the clinical needs and the current state of the knowledge in embryology. Her goals is to combine the strengths of her background directing her career towards the reproductive translational research field.
She obtained her PhD in Biology of Reproduction (Marie-Sklodowska Curie ITN) at the UCD (Ireland) and the INIA (Spain). This is a European Network created to train the new generation of excellent researchers in the Biology and Technology of Reproductive Health. Her research aimed to improve our knowledge of embryo-maternal communication during the preimplantation stages of pregnancy. As a result of her PhD studies, she was selected as a finalist of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Awards 2018, an event organized by the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union which aims to identify the most promising researchers among those funded so far under the MSCA programme. Her contribution to research is reflected in different publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Moreover, she has presented her work at a variety of international conferences including the Spanish Association of Andrology (ASESA), the annual meeting of the International Embryo Technology Society (IETS), the meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), and the meeting of the Association of Embryo Technology in Europe (AETE), at which she won the prestigious Student Competition in 2018.
